Artist Statement

My recent investigation as an artist has been to explore, through painting, the intricate blurrings of the spiritual boundaries between abstraction and representation. By evoking an intrinsic connectioninvolving nature’s conceptual elements, and its consequential relationship with those of humankind, I hope to construct visual images that meld both nature’s abstractions with the human footprint.

My paintings focus on indigenous forms that evolve into a universal language of both environmental cognition and human intervention. I create a vision of a world engulfed in a luminous essence of color and light, movement, space, and texture. My images connect nature’s “spiritual reality” with the viewer and me.

This visual epiphany recalls that magical moment in time where all is harmonious in the world.
