<p>Early on Saturday morning a small group of hob’art members gathered at the hob’art co-operative gallery, to share their most intimate studio explorations and experiments.</p>
<p>Marking the gallery’s first of regularly scheduled critique meetings, the artists, gathered together and showed their vulnerability by hanging works to be critiqued by their peers.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://hob-art.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Willie-Baez.jpg" rel="lightbox[1061]"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1063" title="Willie Baez" src="http://hob-art.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Willie-Baez-1024x768.jpg" alt="" width="553" height="415" /></a><span style="color: #808080;">Artists: <em>Erich Heinemann &amp; </em><em>Willie Baez</em></span></p>
<p>Sharing what artists do in a very isolated practice in an effort to gain feedback and insight. As a result they are inspired by what was discussed, seen and felt in an effort to define images or ideas, resolve issues, and see through another’s eyes something that may be fleeting yet within their grasp.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The value is immeasurable on the journey of art making.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Artists who took part this month were:</p>
<p><a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/liz-cohen/" target="_blank">Liz Cohen</a><br />
<a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/Starr-Tucker-Ortega/" target="_blank">Starr Tucker-Ortega</a><br />
<a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/Willie-Baez/" target="_blank">Willie Baez</a><br />
<a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/donna-doherty/" target="_blank">Donna Doherty</a><br />
<a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/erich-heinemann/" target="_blank">Erich Heinemann</a><br />
<a href="http://hob-art.org/artists/constance-ftera/" target="_blank">Connie Ftera</a></p>
<p>All members of hob&#8217;art are invited along to the regular critique group held approximately every month {please check the calendar}</p>

<span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Silhouettes</strong> is the new exhibition at the hob&#8217;art gallery in The Monroe Art Center by members Patrick Deshayes, Joe Gilmore and Neri Orozco.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><strong>Patrick Deshayes</strong>: ‘In every sense, a line’. His ‘line’ theme was inspired by an essay about Baudelaire, comparing the writer&#8217;s pen to a     painter&#8217;s brush. In the mist of broken, curved, round and spiraling lines, silhouettes appear and disappear to surprise and delight.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><strong>Joe Gilmore</strong>: I’m dealing with my emotional connection to my ancestors in this continuation of “My Ancestors were Beautiful” and having fun with it through the use of color and whimsy.<strong></strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><strong>Neri Orozco</strong>: My work is diverse sometimes pervers- all over abstract to magical reality.
Often heavily political and very funny to some while offending others.</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">WHEN:
 Exhibition – Sat, March 31 thru Sun, April 22, 2012<br />
Opening Reception (public invited) – 5-9pm, Sat, April 14, 2012</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">WHERE:
 Monroe Art Center<br />
720 Monroe Street , 2nd floor, E208
 Hoboken , New Jersey, 07030</p>
